ACE SYRE, formerly known as Dreyspurpo, is a Nigerian-born rapper, vocalist, and songwriter bringing a vibrant, genre-blending energy to the Canadian independent hip-hop scene. Born Audrey Syriacuse in Abuja, Nigeria, he moved to Regina, Saskatchewan, where he has developed a distinctive sound that fuses raw, introspective rap lyricism with melodic neo-soul influences and modern pop sensibilities.
ACE SYRE first emerged on the local radar in the summer of 2023 with his debut single “MR. SYRIACUSE,” after becoming one of the earliest artists to sign with the newly formed Avid Records. As the third local Regina artist to join the label’s roster (following its soft-launch in early 2023), he has been instrumental in helping shape the collective’s identity from its grassroots beginnings.
His music explores themes of tough upbringings, love, identity, and personal growth, often delivered through honest storytelling and emotional depth. Projects like the 11-track mixtape LIFE LOVE MELANCHOLY (released August 2024) marked a full year since his debut and showcased his evolving range — from moody, atmospheric tracks to more upbeat, reflective cuts. Subsequent releases, including the 2-track single “FADE?” (2025), the nostalgic “'03 BB” (2024), “Spiral,” “Resolution, Pt. 1,” and the AAM PARADOX EP, demonstrate a consistent drive to experiment while staying true to his roots.
Beyond solo work, ACE SYRE has been an active participant in the Regina music community. He performed at Avid Records’ inaugural live show in February 2024 at The Mercury — a charity event held in memory of beloved friend and collaborator Young Crow (Rowan Knopf) — alongside the full Avid roster including Doh-Ski, heavnsnt, IamAidenCarter, and others. He has also appeared on collaborative tracks such as the Regina posse cut “HIT ME UP” (featuring Lynxfr, Lando, Young Crow, and more) and “Green Up” by Endeshaw, highlighting his collaborative spirit within the tight-knit scene. In fact, the recording of "HIT ME UP" was where Lynksfr first introduced Audrey to Aiden, eventually leading to the involvement with Avid Records.
Now operating under the name ACE SYRE, the artist continues to refine his craft in Avid Records’ studio, pushing boundaries between hip-hop, neo-soul, and alternative sounds. With growing local recognition — including project nods in Saskatchewan music circles — ACE SYRE represents the multicultural, forward-thinking next wave of prairie hip-hop. His journey from bedroom recordings to label-backed releases embodies the independent hustle, cultural fusion, and community focus that define Avid Records.
