About Us
Our Story
Avid Records began in February 2023 when Aiden decided to try vocal recording out of his home setup. He noticed a gap in Regina for high-quality yet accessible studio time, especially for hip-hop and rap vocalists. The label was officially founded on November 23, 2023, with early signings including Dreyspurpo, Endeshaw, Young Crow, and IamAidenCarter himself. Rowan (Young Crow) played a pivotal role from day one. His creativity and friendship helped shape the label’s collaborative spirit.
Tragically, Rowan passed away on November 3, 2023. With family permission, Avid Records completed and released his 12-track posthumous album Sparrow on December 31, 2023. Our first-ever show on February 17, 2024, at The Mercury in Regina was a sold-out charity event in his memory, featuring the full roster and raising funds for his family.
Since then, we’ve grown quickly, adding artists like Doh-Ski (signed December 2023), heavnsnt, and others. What started as a small project between Aiden and Rowan has become one of Regina’s fastest-growing studios, serving dozens of artists while building a tight-knit collective.
Our Purpose & Goals
Our mission is simple: fuel the underground rap/hip-hop & pop scene by meeting its audio, video, and distribution needs in Regina and beyond. We make professional music creation accessible so artists can focus on creativity instead of barriers. We’re committed to:
- Delivering high-quality, affordable services tailored to solo artists. (not bands, YET)
- Fostering collaboration and community among local talent.
- Elevating Saskatchewan’s music scene through releases, shows, tours, and promotion.
- Supporting raw, authentic artistic expression from the prairies, with no censorship or creative suppression.
Avid Records believes prairie talent deserves the same shot as anywhere else. Quality over quantity, putting our community first.
