"Music always gave me a place to escape from everything that was fucked up in life. Just block out everything."
-Alex Tha Rippa, 2026

Alex Tha Rippa started rapping in his early adolescent years and has been a consistent force in the Saskatchewan hip-hop scene. He made his formal debut around 2020 with the project Elm St. Dreams, following earlier releases like the 2017 single "Bad Sh*t." His music is characterized by high-energy performances, street-rooted storytelling, and an unfiltered passion that resonates with fans of real, grind-focused rap.
Beyond performing, Alex is a key architect of the local scene through Filthy Mouth Records. He handles show promotion, bookings, publicity, merch, and tour support. He frequently collaborates with Avid Records artists (notably co-releasing and performing with Doh-Ski, and IamAidenCarter), helping pack venues like The Cure, The Lot, and The Exchange while building cross-province momentum. His partnership with Avid Records strengthens the underground hip-hop ecosystem in the Prairies through shared live energy, releases, and collective support.
Known for his high-output approach and hands-on hustle, Alex also pursues interests as a semi-professional racecar driver, amateur tattoo artist, and BJJ black belt - embodying a multifaceted, disciplined lifestyle that fuels his music and promotions. He continues to drop new music, organize events, and push Saskatchewan talent forward.
