Cleo Phaneuf is a passionate singer, songwriter, and performer from Regina, Saskatchewan, making a bold transition from musical theatre and classical training into the contemporary pop world. With a foundation built on years of dedicated vocal study, piano and guitar training, and competitive performance experience, Cleo brings theatrical energy, emotional depth, and strong storytelling to her original music.

From a young age, Cleo immersed herself in music and acting. She competed regularly in provincial music festivals and musical theatre categories, earning recognition for her powerful vocals and stage presence — including strong placements in classes such as Sandra Ryba Memorial MT Up-tempo and Margaret Caldwell Memorial Musical Theatre Ballad. Highlights include performances of numbers like “There Won’t Be Trumpets” (Anyone Can Whistle), “How Did We Come To This?” (The Wild Party), and other demanding pieces that showcased her range and dramatic delivery.

In 2025, Cleo made her official recorded music debut with the confident pop single “testosterone!”, released on April 17, 2025 through Avid Records. The track was produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered entirely in-house at the Avid Records studio. With its bold attitude and catchy energy, “testosterone!” marked a clear statement of artistic independence while honoring her theatrical roots. She has also teased future work, including her debut album Project: C, slated for release in June. 

As the newest addition to the Avid Records roster, Cleo represents a fresh pop voice within the label’s growing family of Regina artists. Because of her background in singing, she has been teaching vocal techniques to the artists at Avid Records, contributing to better sounding vocals across the board. She is actively developing her songwriting and recording skills in the professional studio environment, blending her love for musical theatre flair with modern pop production. Whether performing live or in the studio, Cleo delivers heartfelt, expressive performances that connect with audiences seeking authentic and dynamic artists.
